Homemade Heaven...

Within my first week of working in Raleigh, I recognized a place that folks love to frequent and now I love to frequent.  It is called Poppyseed Market.  It is not only a restaurant, but also a... wait for it... market.  The outside of the building is less than snazzy, housed in a strip mall, but the inside makes up for everything.

Walking in, you feel as though you have stepped into a Mediterranean grocery.  Coming in the door there is a huge case of homemade delights--two types of lasagna, homemade chicken tenders, mac and cheese, chicken parmesan, twice baked potatoes and so on.  THEN there is a salad case to the right with homemade salads like chicken salad, orzo salad, dill potato salad, egg salad and so forth.  To date, I have tried both lasagnas (butternut squash and original), the chicken tenders, mac and cheese, orzo salad, chicken salad and a random bowtie pasta salad that isn't listed.  They are literally all to die for.  Scout's honor.

TTTHHHHEEEENNNN... there is a soup, sandwich and pizza menu.  Incredible, I know.  I haven't explored this part of the menu so much.  I do know that when you order sandwiches you receive homemade potato chips with homemade ranch.  Really, if the chips and ranch are crazy good, who needs a sandwich?!

I think every person in Raleigh, or the United States, needs to visit here and taste a bit of everything.  It is really, really phenomenal.  4.8 out of 5.

Best 2 things on their menu -
    Chicken Parm Sandwich
    Philly cheesesteak sandwich

Their pimento cheese is also pretty good
All of their soups are stellar!

LOVE Poppyseed! There calzone's are awesome, and I enjoy the yummy light salad you can get on the side (makes me feel a little healthier while still getting that yummy comfort food!)
